Homeschooling in Oregon: the paperwork, exactly

What Oregon law requires when you teach your child at home — the filings, the deadlines, the records — and what it does not require, in writing.

Oregon — Notice only

Notice: Written notice to the local education service district within 10 days of starting homeschool or withdrawing from public school; again on moving to a new ESD.

Ongoing duties: Standardized testing at the end of grades 3, 5, 8 and 10 by a qualified neutral tester; results provided to the ESD only on request.

Withdrawal from public school: a codified step in Oregon law.
